One for Fun, presented by Fleet Feet Pittsburgh at 7 p.m.

If you are running the Fleet Feet Liberty Mile for the first time or are a recreational runner, this is the mile where you can have fun and enjoy the run! This fun and easy downhill course in Pittsburgh should be a breeze. Children 13 and under must have an adult run with them. Parents/guardians/adults must register and pay to run with the child. Anyone not meeting the maximum time of 20 minutes will be disqualified and asked to move to the sidewalk.

Corporate Challenge, presented by FedEx at 7:08 p.m.

Get moving with your co-workers and experience running through the streets of Downtown Pittsburgh on a summer Friday night! For some in your office, this one-mile run will be their first ever. For others, it will be a chance to accomplish a new goal. No matter the motivation, the Corporate Challenge heat will allow you and your colleagues to accomplish a goal together. Plus, if your company is enrolled in the 2023 FedEx Pittsburgh Corporate Challenge, participation in this heat will get you one step closer to earning your exclusive 2023 Corporate Challenge item!

National Senior Games at 7:10 p.m.

We've created a special heat exclusive to National Senior Games Athletes! Whether you're a runner or competing in a different sport at this year's games, the Liberty Mile is a perfect way for all athletes to challenge themselves in a new and different way. Maybe you're looking to run your fastest mile ever or maybe it's your first; it's a great chance to take home an extra medal from your time at the Games and a bonus way to remember your time in Pittsburgh.

Kids of STEEL at 7:15 p.m.

This heat is perfect for kids 13 years old or younger. Any Kids of STEEL program participant can use their fun run experience at the Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh Kids Marathon to track improvement with a timed mile. Parents must register in the adult Kids of STEEL Mile and pay to run with their child. Anyone not meeting the maximum time of 20 minutes will be asked to move to the sidewalk.

Be a Kid of STEEL

Pup Trot, presented by Animal Friends at 7:20 p.m.

Love taking your pup out for a run? Then this is the heat for you! This trot is open to dogs and their owners of all ages. Children 13 and under must have an adult run with them. Parents/guardians/adults must register and pay to run with the child and dog. Anyone not meeting the maximum time of 20 minutes will be disqualified and asked to move to the sidewalk.

Please note the following precautions:

  • All dogs must be leashed at all times
  • No retractable leashes or leashes exceeding the 6-ft standard leash length are permitted
  • Dogs should run or walk directly alongside their human companion.

Please pay close attention to other participants and ensure you and your dog do not impede others' safety or participation experience.

Masters, presented by UPMC Health Plan at 7:40 p.m.

This heat is for competitive milers, age 40 and over, who can run an 8-minute mile or under. Age group awards will be given in the following: 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 and over. Anyone who exceeds the 8-minute time limit will be disqualified and asked to move to the sidewalk. Proof of qualifying time is required.

Challenge yourself

Unstoppable, presented by Brooks Running at 7:48 p.m.

Do you think you are fast? Prove it with our Competitive Mile for ages 14-39! This heat is for milers who can run a 6-minute mile or under. Age group awards will be given in the following: 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, and 35-39. Anyone who exceeds the 8-minute time limit will be disqualified and asked to move to the sidewalk. Proof of qualifying time is required. 

Crush the competition

RUN Varsity, presented by P3R at 7:55 p.m.

As the newest heat of the Fleet Feet Liberty Mile, RUN Varsity gives competitive runners, ages 14-19 a heat of their own. No qualifying time is required.
