Safety

Safety is our top priority. To help ensure a safe race experience, P3R encourages all participants, volunteers, and spectators to be aware of your surroundings. Please adhere to the following guidelines on race day:

  • Participants agree to follow the instructions of race, medical, and police officials.
  • If you see a suspicious person, object, or vehicle along or near the race course, please report the sighting to emergency services by calling 9-1-1 or notify nearby law enforcement personnel.
  • Do not store, hide, or leave any personal items, backpacks, packages, or clothes along or near the race route, including the start and finish line areas and Market Square.
  • No backpacks, duffel bags, bags (paper, plastic, etc.), hard or soft coolers, or purses larger than 8.5"x11" will be allowed inside the start line or finish line runner-only areas.
    • Camelbacks and/or fuel belts are permitted but will be subject to inspection at the entrances to the start and finish line perimeters
    • Military runners carrying Rucksacks must contact the P3R office to register the bag's contents prior to race day. All bags are subject to inspection.
  • All bags must be checked into Gear Check presented by FedEx in Market Square prior to the start of the race. Runners will NOT be permitted to bring or carry bags into the start line corral.
  • Only registered runners and walkers with official race/bib numbers will be permitted inside the start line corrals. You must clearly display your race bib to gain entry into the start line corrals.
  • Bicycles, skateboards, scooters, baby joggers, strollers, roller skates, and rollerblades are not permitted on the course.
  • Headphones are strongly discouraged.
  • Animals are only permitted in the Pup Trot heat. If you plan to participate in any other heat with a service animal, you will need to have that exception approved by P3R by Monday, July 3.

Zero Tolerance Policy

P3R is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment for all who attend and/or participate in our events. There is a unifying bond among people who love running that transcends social, cultural, political, and economic barriers that typically divide us. P3R takes a stand for inclusion of all individuals regardless of race, religion/religious creed, color, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, national origin, ancestry or place of birth, disability, marital status, familial status or genetic information. P3R is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion and has a zero-tolerance stance regarding any form of infringement on the inclusive environment that has been created at our events. Acts of discrimination, racism, sexism or harassment toward any participant, spectator or event employee will not be tolerated by our organization and will result in the removal of responsible parties from the premises of the event.

Parking

Unfortunately we can't tell you exactly where to park, as we won't know ahead of time whether certain lots/garages will have capacity on race day. You can use the ParkPGH app to see which parking garages in the downtown area have space available. You can also click here to see all of the parking garages and lots in the downtown area. Keep in mind that Penn and Liberty Avenues, as well as 6th Street, 7th Street, Tito Way, 9th Street, Garrison Place, 10th Street, and 11th Street will be CLOSED beginning at 6:30 p.m., so we recommend you choose a garage not adjacent to these streets to ensure you can get in and out of the garage at your leisure.
