The return to a live start line is just a month away! Will your family be there? Meet the Reff family: Franziska, her wife Desta, and their two daughters Edith and Maple. The Reffs are excited to participate in their first Fleet Feet Liberty Mile this July—2,400+ miles away from home.

With running programs shut down and school going virtual over the past year, Franziska and her family had a hard time staying motivated. An active member of her local Fleet Feet running club in California, Franziska wanted to regain the drive and commitment she had for training prior to the pandemic. Now that they are living in Pittsburgh for the summer, the Reffs decided to make running a family activity as a way to spend more time together. Their goal? To run the Fleet Feet Liberty Mile! The one-mile distance has inspired the family to stay motivated, develop grit, and keep moving.
